Who are we?

La Maison de couture is a fashion design school based in Brussels. It specializes in eveningwear and bridal wear. It offers courses in Fashion design, sewing Patternmaking and fashion drawing.

It is open not only to students enrolled in its degrees, but also to anyone interested in taking its “à la carte” courses.

Learn Patternmaking from A to Z, master the theoretical basics and practice the development of all types of simple garments: skirts, dresses, blouses, pants, as well as more complex garments (evening gowns, wedding dresses, etc.).

During the day per module

La Maison de Couture offers Patternmaking courses on two 2 levels.

beginner level which focuses on the theoretical basis of the skirt and bodice/dress and its main developments.

The pattern studies (i.e. the development of a pattern based on a visual (photo or drawing) that are carried out in class are skirts, shirts, blouses and dresses. The course takes place every Monday from 10am to 5pm and lasts 6 hours. 3h theory and 3h practice.

an advanced level for those who already have a very good knowledge of Patternmaking. On the program: made-to-measure Patternmaking, tailoring and evening gowns and/or wedding dresses. For more details on the content of this course, please consult the Made-to-measure, tailoring and wedding dresses module sheets.

This advanced Patternmaking course takes place every Tuesday from 10am to 5pm.

If you’re already familiar with Patternmaking, you can choose to take part in one or all of the 3 expert modules developed by La Maison de Couture.

During these modules, students focus on each of the themes, namely the Made-to-Measure module, the Jacket module and the Wedding Dress module.

price per trimester module

Materials included in the price

Cutting paper, Patternmaking material available on site.

Materials and other costs borne by the student

The calico and ideally a Stockman or equivalent bust.
