A couture school is not only its curriculum. Between classes there are the pieces coming out of the atelier, the weeks spent on a Chanel jacket, the fabrics we go and find in Caudry, the exhibitions we come back from with ideas. Here is where to start.<\/p>\n

Student work<\/h2>\n

Dresses, tailored jackets, ensembles: the pieces shown at juries and fashion shows, with the names of those who made them. It is the most telling part of the site \u2014 what actually comes out of our workshops, year after year.<\/p>\n

Short courses and workshops<\/h2>\n

Chanel jacket, tailoring, embroidery, hat-making, pattern making, natural dyeing: one week, one craft, in small groups. Every session leaves a write-up \u2014 what was made, with whom, and what stayed.<\/p>\n

Fabrics<\/h2>\n

Our fabric library, and the houses that supply it: Sophie Hallette in Caudry, the TextielLab in Tilburg, the Premi\u00e8re Vision show in Paris. Recognising a fabric, anticipating its drape, working it without damage \u2014 the first reflex of the craft.<\/p>\n

Fashion culture<\/h2>\n

The Christian Dior and Jules Fran\u00e7ois Crahay exhibitions, the MoMu in Antwerp, the Modemuseum in Hasselt, the Trano\u00ef show at the Palais Brongniart. What we go to see with the students, and what we bring back to the atelier.<\/p>\n

Who teaches here: each person’s background, speciality and the seminar they lead. Seamstresses and pattern makers who practise, and who pass it on.<\/p>\n
