Training presentation

The advanced diploma “Luxury and Haute Couture” is aimed at students or young professionals who want to create their own brand, or set up as an independent couturier/model maker/stylist. It lasts one year.

The teaching program focuses on bridal and evening wear.

The teaching program combines the realization of personal projects and models imposed by the school. Admission to this study program is through an individual interview. It is not open to beginners.

It enables students to deepen their knowledge in the design and creation of wedding and evening gowns.

Admission requirements

Admission is by individual interview. This program is designed for students who have already acquired basic skills in :

  • Patternmaking: design a simple pattern.
  • Sewing: master the assembly of basic garments.
  • Fashion drawing: experience in freehand fashion drawing.

This program aims to perfect the skills of stylists/model makers/seamstresses, enabling them to realize ambitious technical projects. It provides expertise in specific fabrics(lace, flowing materials, transparent materials) and in the development of patterns for evening and bridal gowns.

Content

The curriculum is structured around the following workshops:

The "FLOU" workshop

A FLOU sewing workshop in which we assemble fabric projects in materials considered difficult, to acquire the expertise needed to create demanding models. The FLOU workshop runs all year round, on Thursdays, all day from 10am to 5pm.

A workshop on Tailoring

The Tailoring sewing workshop in which the student is invited to create two distinct jackets : a “Chanel”-type jacket in a CHANEL tweed wool typical of the CHANEL universe, and a classic tailored jacket in jacquard. The tailoring workshop is held twice a year, in January (“CHANEL” jacket, January 6 to 10) and in April (Tailor Jacket, April 14 to 18).

Fashion design workshop

A Fashion designworkshop where students learn to represent their ideas freehand and, if their freehand level allows it, also on the computer.

Pattern making and draping workshop

L’atelier patronage est dédié au développement des patrons des modèles imaginés par les étudiants dans le cadre de l’atelier stylisme.
Il permet également d’explorer la construction de modèles plus élaborés, en approfondissant les techniques de modélisme avancé.
