FASHION DESIGN TEACHER
ISABELLE CATTELAT
After a first successful international career, she created La Maison de Couture in Brussels in 2010.
Self-taught and passionate about fabrics, she completed her technical training in sewing and patternmaking.
She designs silhouettes for weddings and evenings using top-of-the-range fabrics chosen exclusively from the best suppliers. She offers her original creations to an exclusive clientele.
Also a keen interior decorator, she assists her private customers with their renovation projects and advises them on the choice of wallpaper, hangings and upholstery.
She runs the school and teaches courses in textile knowledge, colors, contemporary fashion and fashion design.
FABIENNE THOMAS
With a degree in fashion design and education, Fabienne Thomas has been combining a dual career in teaching and the fashion industry since the 90s.
A Patternmaking and Casting teacher at Ateliers Lannaux for over 20 years, in 2005 she became Academic Manager at La Maison de Couture.
At the same time, she was evolving in the fashion industry:
✔ Debut at E.L.D.E., a clothing workshop.
✔ Collaboration with Organdi-Valens, an emblematic brand of wedding dresses in Brussels.
✔ Patternmaker for Max et Lola (children’s fashion) and Mes Sœurs et Moi (women’s ready-to-wear) for over 10 years.
She specializes in patternmaking, technical data sheets, gradations and production follow-up.
SVETLANA KISELEOVA
Svetlana Kiseleova has been working with La Maison de Couture for over 10 years.
Graduating as a Garment Engineer from Kyiv University in 1990, she ran workshops in Romania, Moldavia and Belgium before specializing in formal wear.
Today, she designs and creates bespoke Haute Couture models, combining traditional know-how with modern techniques.
JESSIE LECOMTE
A graduate of theAntwerp Academy, Jessie Lecomte honed her skills at some of Belgium’s top fashion houses before setting up her own label in 2007.
Inspired by contemporary art, ethnographic photography and pop culture, her style is distinguished by a subtle, refined sophistication.
Her work is based on:
✔ The use of exceptional materials (spun cashmere, stiff Japanese silks).
✔ Meticulous work on textures with embroidery, prints and pearls.
✔ A unique visual depth, always elegantly balanced.
ANNE VANNIEUWENHUYSE
Passionate about fashion and creation for many years, Anne V. is passionate about designing personalized hats, bibis and headpieces – made-to-measure or in small series – according to her customers’ mood, imagination or desire.(Facebook);
Her work was quickly noticed: she won the Prix de l’élégance at the Festival du chapeau – a recognition of her talent, sense of style and mastery of craftsmanship.(notele.be)
When Anne V. joins our workshop, she brings not only her craftsmanship, but also her creative vision and her desire to pass on her knowledge. She’s ready to guide students in making their own creations, whether it’s a classic hat, an elegant bibi or a bold headdress.
Kenny Damian
Embroiderer and textile restorer, Kenny Damian has been working as anexpert in the conservation of historic costumes and textiles since 2007.
Her passion is not limited to restoration: she makes it a point of honor to preserve and pass on traditional embroidery techniques.
Her conservation work offers a unique vision that enriches her creations, integrating a variety of techniques and materials to bring exceptional designs to life.
ELIZABETH GASBARRE
A textile art graduate, Elisabeth Roulleau brings to La Maison de Couture invaluable expertise in art embroidery and traditional techniques.
- An embroiderer and master craftswoman, Elisabeth has been teaching haute couture embroidery for over 25 years(elisabethroulleau.com).
- Trained at the prestigious Lesage school in Paris, she has worked in the renowned Cécile Henri workshop, for collections by major fashion houses, and created embroideries for international haute couture.(elisabethroulleau.com)
