Haute Couture training objectives and content
This one-year course is designed for people already familiar with the basics of sewing and Patternmaking. It aims to develop professional expertise in the creation of exceptional pieces.
Among the skills taught :
- creation of evening gowns and formal wear
- bustier and corsetry construction
- working with lace, chiffon, organza, silk, satin and delicate fabrics
- top-of-the-range finishes: hand-applied, clean assembly, quality linings
- developing a personal creative style
- design and execution of a professional final project
The course culminates in a specialized certificate in Haute Couture.
Admission
Admission is based on an individual interview to assess :
- basic technical skills (assembly, sewing, pattern reading)
- the candidate’s motivation and objectives
- the ability to keep up with a demanding work schedule
This course is ideal for aspiring designers, experienced seamstresses or people undergoing retraining.
Registration and fees
Enrolment is finalized after payment of a deposit.
The balance can be paid in several instalments during the year.
Some personal supplies (threads, fabrics for advanced projects, haberdashery) are the responsibility of the student, while the school provides essential materials.
