Preparatory course for the Fashion design competition - Dossier & Portfolio

Period: July 27 to August 7 –

2 weeks (10 days) – intensive format
Public: candidates (17+ / post-bac / reorientation), beginners to intermediates

The final objective is to leave with a ready-to-use file, an edited portfolio, a “signature” A4 CV, and solid interview preparation.

  5. Interview practice (15-20 min): clear narrative, answers, posture, timing, argumentation.

METHOD

  • Guided research & visual culture: not just “I like it”, but “I choose it because…”.
  • Red thread: implicit theme, tension, contrast, obsession, material, silhouette, gesture…
  • Editing: learning to remove 50% to keep the best.
  • Coaching: daily feedback + 2 long individual reviews (middle + end).
  • Simulation: timed interview, difficult questions, posture correction.

  • 10 printable A4 images (“flyers”) + captions (optional, depending on strategy)
  • 1 “red thread” board (mood / intention / connections between the 10 images)
  • Concise portfolio (PDF + printable version): 8 to 20 pages depending on profile
  • Customized A4 CV (print-ready PDF)
  • Oral pitch (2 minutes) + interview outline + personal FAQ
  • (Option) Print checklist / file preparation + “D-day” mini guide

Day 1 – Framing + diagnosis

Day 2 – Intelligent search (references that talk about you)

Day 3 – Image-making & graphic consistency

Day 4 – Dossier: 10 themes (part 1)

Day 5 – Dossier: 10 themes (part 2) + self-portrait

PROGRAM WEEK 2

Portfolio, CV, oral + finalization

Day 6 – Portfolio: sorting & storytelling

Day 7 – Portfolio: layout & captions

Day 8 – Personalized A4 CV

Day 9 – Interview preparation (simulation 1)

Day 10 – Final jury (simulation 2) + ready-to-print pack

Recommended organization & format

Materials / tools

  • Ideal group: 6 to 10 people (qualitative feedback)
  • Rhythm: 5 days/week, 4h to 6h/day depending on intensity
  • Includes: individual feedback + corrections + templates (CV/portfolio)
  • Required: computer + print access (or group print at end)
  • Smartphone or camera (self-portrait + own captures)
  • Computer (InDesign/Canva/Affinity/PowerPoint OK)
  • Notebook + pencils / glue / scissors (for research & quick models)
