Plumeria Workshop

Plumasserie Workshop – June 2, 2025 in Brussels

As part of our program to discover artisanal skills, our fashion school is pleased to host a featherwork workshop on Monday, June 2, 2025 at our premises in Brussels.

This workshop will be led by Emmanuelle Béduneau, PLUMASSERIE workshop manager – ANALEPSE www.analepsefeltdesign.com

The workshop will take place in several stages, combining discovery, experimentation and personal creation.

Course of the workshop :

  1. A playful and theoretical introduction: games and discussions about feathers and birds, to better understand the origin and diversity of this natural material.
  2. Tool presentation and demonstration: introduction to basic featherworking techniques.
  3. Creating a personal memo: students will create a set of basic gestures to keep as a reference.
  4. Design a personal project: individual guidance in the creation of an accessory or textile detail adorned with feathers.

Two possible creative directions:

  • Accessory: brooch, flower, simple tiara, pump…
  • Textile finish: neckline edge, sleeve or other detail on a garment.

Preparation required of students:

  • Come along with your sketches, moodboards or inspirations if you have any. This will save time on the big day.
  • You can also think about your project on the day, but advance preparation is strongly encouraged.
  • Depending on your project, consider bringing your own support:
    • Headband for a tiara
    • Shoes for customization
    • Garment or textile part for finishing
  • Basic materials (feathers, tools, glues, textile supports and a few basic accessories) will be provided by the instructor.

The workshop has a wide selection of feathers (ostrich, goose, etc.), unless otherwise requested.
