Visit the Modemuseum Hasselt: Rococo immersion followed by a hat workshop

Last Thursday, students from La Maison de Couture visited the Rococo exhibition at the Modemuseum Hasselt, a key stage in their week devoted to accessory design. Each student has to design a project including at least a hat and a stole, drawing inspiration from both historical and contemporary references.

The exhibition showcased all the richness and fantasy of Rococo: fine lace, ribbons, sculptural ornaments, play on volumes, powdery colors… A real source of inspiration for creative and expressive accessories. Students were also able to discover the film produced by the museum around the exhibition, extending their immersion in this refined aesthetic universe.

Following this visit, the students had the chance to take part in a hat workshop led by Anne Vannieuwenhuyse, milliner and new teacher at La Maison de Couture. On the program: basic modeling techniques, approaching shapes, manipulating materials and exploring volumes – a concrete first step towards making their own creation.

This full day, combining cultural discovery and professional practice, enabled the students to enrich their outlook and nurture their creative process. They are now pursuing the creation of their accessories in the studio, with renewed inspiration.
