Testimonials from Aditep Namchan, Class of 2023.

I love sewing and fashion in general; this school focuses heavily on sewing, and the classes are almost like private lessons; here, the teacher guides us step by step through our work—that’s exactly what I was looking for; I’ve always wanted to become part of the team at a well-known brand, and I know that this kind of dream requires exceptional qualities because these positions are very rare. Even though I’ve graduated, I continue to work on exceptional projects because I know that’s what I’m good at; I’m meticulous and have the patience required by Haute Couture. I love working by hand and creating one-of-a-kind pieces that feature embroidery. For example, I created a dress that required me to make 300 flowers out of muslin, and right now I’m finishing up a project for which I’ll be using 40 meters of Japanese tulle and off-white Korean organza for a wedding dress; I’m Thai, so naturally I’m interested in sourcing materials from Asia.

Advanced Diploma in Luxury and Haute Couture

Testimonials: Hannah Mugenzi, first-year diploma student.

After exploring several paths, I realized that fashion—which had long been just a personal hobby—was the answer to my years of uncertainty about my future. From the very first information session and the initial classes, La Maison de la Couture made my eyes sparkle: the curriculum, the instructors, and the atmosphere immediately put me at ease. It’s a family-like atmosphere that makes you want to dare to be yourself. Today, I have absolutely no regrets about my choice. I hope that this program will help me find my artistic voice, develop my skills in Patternmaking, sewing, drawing, and Fashion design, and above all, nurture my creativity with the time, intention, and support it deserves.

FAQ

What courses does La Maison de Couture offer?

La Maison de Couture offers two programs: — A two-year program in fashion design, Patternmaking, and sewing open to beginners — A one-year program in luxury and haute couture designed for those who already have an advanced level of sewing and Patternmaking skills.

What are the main courses?

The subjects taught include fashion design, Patternmaking, sewing, fashion illustration, and accessories. You can find details about our courses under the “Our Courses” tab on this website.

Is it necessary to know how to sew?

Some of La Maison de Couture’s programs are open to beginners. For example, you don’t need to know how to sew to enroll in the fashion design, patternmaking, and sewing diploma program, or in the beginner-level sewing or Patternmaking classes.

How can I learn more about La Maison de Couture?

We hold several information sessions in January, March, June, and September. The dates are posted on our website. Outside of these dates, you can sign up for an open house at any time of the year. This event is completely free. It’s also during one of these open houses that we’ll be able to assess your skill level and better guide you toward the appropriate training level.

When are the open houses held?

Taster sessions are held every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the year; all you need to do is make a reservation.
